Summary
Based on the real-life travels of Che Guevara, a revolutionary in Cuba. His ideals that would later make him famous surface during his first long trip through South America.
Review
This is a Spanish language film based on the travel journals “Che” kept during his first trip through South America. The movie paints a portrait of Che that is not overly sympathetic. He is still young and just beginning to develop the ideas that later would make him famous.
It has a sense of humor about itself and is quite funny in parts. The sort of funny that you would expect would arise if you were to take a long trip with one of your best guy friends. Girl problems, money problems, engine problems. The movie does not focus on Che’s socialist ideals, but shows him maturing and developing his thought during his adventure. Well done.
