Review
Pixar’s superhero flick features wonderful animation, great voice acting, and character design that impressed me all to hell were the obvious things that I enjoyed immediately in The Incredibles, but the story was nailed together perfectly (always doing its best to show, not tell) and never went too over the top with the emotional beats like The Iron Giant (writer/director Brad Bird’s previous heroic outing) did in its last few moments.
I noticed definite Randian and Nietzchean themes underpinning everything the scene where Mr Incredible confronts his boss in his civilian identity seems to be straight out of The Fountainhead and the fact that there were only two non-super characters that were sympathetic immediately springs to mind, and I’m not that bright, frankly. Still, one of the best superhero movies.
