Summary

Bruce Banner, thanks to irradiated nanotech robots, becomes the Hulk, the ultimate expression of his inner turmoil. Stuff gets exploded real good.

Review

You know, for the first hour and a half, I was completely enjoying The Hulk. Sure, it may have taken a while to get to Hulk’s big transmogrification, but it was well-acted and the script wasn’t inane. Unfortunately, the movie takes a drastic left turn away from what the Hulk’s primary mission is to break stuff and entertain people and ends up with a strange metaphysical combat sequence that, frankly, makes no sense.

Still, this isn’t a disaster along the lines of Catwoman, as Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly play their parts very well and Sam Elliot makes sure that we actually have a bit of sympathy for his General Ross character. Nick Nolte playing Bruce’s father, however, doesn’t seem to be acting so much as inhabiting the picture he’s truly creepy and even if his eventual fate is fairly silly, there’s some effective moments of drama between himself and the other cast members.

Also Watch.
