Summary
A young man tries to escape his life by pretending to be Italian. His dream is to join the Italian cycling team, but soon he learns the truth about his heroes. Fortunately, he has a group of friends to help him out.
Review
This movie is so cheesy, that I guarantee you will love it. This movie includes Dennis Quaid before The Big Easy, Daniel Stern before Home Alone and City Slickers and Dennis Christopher before Chariots of Fire. You can almost relate to the group of four friends known as the Cutters. The term “Cutters” was a slang word that the college kids of Bloomington, Indiana called the local townspeople.
It was a negative term that was more of a slap in the face to the locals than anything. The truth is, the Bloomington residents were actually called “Stonies” for their work on the rock quarry. But the writer, Steve Tesich, did not want to use this term so he switched it to “Cutters.” They hang around the rock quarry just outside of Indianapolis and they wonder what to make of their lives. Eventually, they take part in a four man cycling race and they defeat the college students.
