A loud and fiesty New York City cabbie (Queen Latifah) helps a helpless and hopeless cop (Jimmy Fallon) pursue four Brazilian female bank robbers.
Review
If the summary didn’t already tell you then allow me to fill in the blanks. It is as if the writers wrote this catastrophe with one main theme in mind how bad and how ridiculous can we make this movie. If this was their intent and if success is judged by staying true to your intentions then the writers of Taxi knocked one out of the park. But, if you are like most movie-goers, and your intention is to be entertained in a somewhat believable manner Taxi comes up woefully short.
Put it this way Not only am I not buying that Queen Latifah is the second coming of Mario Andretti, but I am also having a hard time believing that she could have a super model look alike for a boyfriend. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. The main foil to the dynamic duo of Fallon and Latifah is a group of super model hot bank robbers led by no other than real-life super model Gisele (Leonardo Dicaprio’s main squeeze). This movie is pretty tough to take from beginning to end. The only redeeming part of the movie is when Gisele frisks Lt. Marta Robbins. (Jennifer Esposito) But if your looking for a cheap and quick thrill you are much better off saving yourself from the agony of the movie and opting for porn instead.
