Summary
An American (Van Damme) takes part in the “Kumite,” an illegal martial arts competition in the underground of Hong Kong.
Review
Van Damme stars as Frank Dux, a martial arts expert and former military man that heads to Hong Kong in order to participate in the deadliest underground tournament in the world the Kumite. Once there, he makes friends with Ray Jackson, a tough guy who’s style is straight street thugging, and falls in love with a bodacious blonde. But will Dux be able to avenge the painful lesson that his new friend, Jackson, learns about the dangers of the Kumite?
This is classic Van Damme all the way the poor acting, the sculpted abs, the cheesy soundtrack, the impressive array of kicks and splits. In other words, it’s a delight to watch! Prepare yourself for gore and glee as Van Damme chops his way into your heart.
Also Watch.
