Review
We all know the deal with sequels, but When Nature Calls, is the rare exception. This movie far surpasses the original. Carrey reprises his role of Ace Ventura and is better than ever. I don’t think there’s a single moment when I was not laughing during this movie. While the plot is fairly similar to the first film Ace having to find an animal to stop some crisis from happening the African setting provides for so many more laughs.
From the opening Cliffhanger spoof, to the consulate moments, to the interactions with the locals, this movie doesn’t disappoint. It is funnier now than when it was originally released when I was 11. Don’t waste your time on Carrey’s more recent dramatic cinematic efforts; go back in time and experience what it’s like to really laugh at a good movie. Oh, and “Bumble Bee Tuna, your balls are showing!”
My Opinion
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995) is worth watching you will definitely enjoy Jim Carrey comedy.
