Summary

A pair of criminal brothers take a family hostage and face many obstacles on their path to freedom in Mexico.

Review

It’s not gonna win any Academy Awards. And those seeking a realistic plot may take their viewing elsewhere. But this film is pure fun from beginning to end. Throwing off his emergency room scrubs and fully embracing his role as a “professional in thief,” Clooney seems to relish each curse word and is lovable throughout the movie, even as the body count rises and the hostages plead for their life. A dance scene with Salma Hayek and a lucky snake is worth the price of admission by itself.

The second half of the movie takes a turn for the more absurd, but just go with it. There is lots of blood, some nudity, violence, many different roles for Cheech Marin and overall fun for the whole family. Or at least the older, male members of the family.
